Renaissance Behavioral Health Systems , a comprehensive nonprofit mental health and social services provider and Joint Commission accredited organization, is currently seeking a Food Services Manager to work at our Jacksonville locations. The Food Services Manager is responsible for the planning, purchasing, supervision and evaluation of all food service operations which serve approximately 250 meals a day. The Food Services Manager also monitors the operations of facilities providing dietary services, ensuring proper functioning of equipment and compliance with all related standards. Duties include but are not limited to : Executes general responsibility necessary to manage operating costs and ensures compliance with all related standards for the Dietary Departments at each facility. Orders supplies needed to meet requirements from vendors; inspects purchases to ensure quality standards are met and approves bills for payment. Develops menus, supervises documentation of menus served and all substitutions. Responsible for inventory control at all sites and monthly inventory of on-site food supplies. Responsible for supervising food service employees engaged in the preparation, cooking of food, dish washing, and beverage service at two sites. Responsible for supervising daily cleaning of food service equipment and areas. Assists with daily operations including food preparation, serving, and cleaning as needed. Schedules regular employee meetings. During meetings, ensures the correct interpretation of departmental and agency policies; reviews proper procedures for food preparation, beverage preparation, service; and shares information with employees with regard to plans, policy changes and provides in-service training. Schedules employees for work to ensure the department is properly staffed for efficient operations. Assigns work to ensure maximum utilization of available staff while maintaining productivity. Coordinates with HR to make arrangements for temporary staff when needed. Manages interactions and communication with external Dietitian. Collaborates with external Dietitian to ensure menus served are within standards of the Florida Diet Manual and/or other regulations. Consults with external Dietician to ensure patient dietary needs (i.e. medical, special diets} are met and coordinates with Inpatient staff. Works on-site at locations at least one day a week to directly supervise food service operations. Remains available to staff issues with Food Services Supervisors and staff during operating hours. Ensures equipment remains operational and is cleaned and maintained according to schedules and/or as needed. Recommends replacements and coordinates repairs with appropriate management staff. Maintains and updates policies, procedures and related documentation to ensure compliance with external regulations, including but not limited to the Department of Health and Joint Commission. Facilitates recruitment, hiring, orientation, retention, evaluation and employee relations in coordination with supervisor and the Human Resource Department. Trains, monitors and supervises staff at various locations. Conducts individual supervisory sessions with each of the staff members under direct supervision.
