About The Position

Lanesville Community School Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our K-12 cafeteria. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the food service program, including meal preparation, staff supervision, menu planning, state and federal compliance, budgeting, and inventory management. Our district serves approximately 750 students in a single K-12 building in a supportive rural community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food service operations
• Knowledge of USDA school nutrition guidelines and food safety practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in school nutrition or cafeteria management
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain by 6/1/26
• Supervisory experience
• Experience with NSLP reporting

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the K-12 school breakfast and lunch programs.
• Ensure compliance with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and all federal/state regulations.
• Plan menus that meet nutritional requirements and incorporate student preferences.
• Supervise food service staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and claims required by IDOE.
• Monitor inventory, purchasing, and food safety procedures (HACCP).
• Develop and manage the food service budget.
• Foster a positive cafeteria atmosphere that supports student wellbeing.
