About The Position

The Food Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a dining establishment. This role involves taking customer orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The Food Server must have strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness of the dining area, handling payments, and addressing customer inquiries or concerns promptly. A commitment to quality service and teamwork is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be over 21 years of age
  • Obtain and Maintain SNHD Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card.
  • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
  • Availability to work flexible hours is required, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
  • Monitor tables to ensure guests are satisfied with their meals and service.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including good hygiene practices and proper clothing, shoes, and jewelry guidelines.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, and utensils, using dishwashing equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Clear and clean tables after guests have finished dining.
  • Reset tables for new guests, including placing clean tableware and condiments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables and utensils.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned
