This position oversees the sanitation cleaning practices and inspects the cleanliness of the equipment. Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements. This position works with beef, poultry, and pork products, as well as other ingredients that may be a potential allergen. The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician position is responsible for: Performing physical and visual inspections of product, equipment, and plant systems then documenting, and calculating results accurately Taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management; Review daily FSQA records for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established requirements. Investigate all issues where nonconformance's are identified on their shift and verify that all non-conforming product is properly isolated, identified and placed on Hold. Identify and address the cause of the problem. Inform FSQA management of all Quality & Food Safety issues which were identified on their shift in a timely manner. Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards. Understand responsibilities and performs all duties in accordance to USDA, company policy, and established procedures. Any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ year experience of related food manufacturing industry OR related Food Safety & Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills. General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Applications. Must be proficient on computer data entry and analysis, email communication, and understanding file management.
  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with management.
  • Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
