This role is for a Part-Time Food Runner in a Sports Bar & Restaurant, where the days and nights are fast-paced, and the focus is on delivering excellent guest service.

Requirements

  • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Must enjoy hosting others
  • Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with guests
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-6 months of experience or equivalent
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, oral, etc.)
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the outlet for effective day-to-day operations (Teamwork)
  • Compliance with all regulatory, governmental, and safety requirements
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment
  • Knowledge of and compliance with department, property, and company policies and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the hotel/casino industry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food to guests in a timely manner, based on specific shift assignments (e.g., food runner station or bar/drink runner station)
  • Clear and reset tables for new seating in accordance with venue standards
  • Ensure each table is ready for guests' arrival according to venue standards
  • Approach newly seated guests, serving bread, butter, water, etc., in a timely and pleasant manner, collaborating with servers to expedite service
  • Monitor tables to assess guests’ needs, anticipate, and respond to guest requests, keeping tables clear once meals are completed to maintain a clean eating area
  • Restock and clean assigned station at the end of each shift, ensuring readiness for the next shift in accordance with Department of Health standards
  • Attend pre-shift meetings
  • Maintain a regular and consistent attendance record
  • Participate as a team member with all servers, venue hosts, supervisors, and kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation
  • Assist servers in their duties as required, including assistance with sidework
  • Perform other duties as assigned by restaurant management
