Food Runner - Sports Bar & Restaurant - Part-Time

This role is for a Part-Time Food Runner in a Sports Bar & Restaurant, where the days and nights are fast-paced, and the focus is on delivering excellent guest service.
Requirements
- Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude
- Must enjoy hosting others
- Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with guests
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-6 months of experience or equivalent
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests
- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, oral, etc.)
- Capacity to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
- Ability to work collaboratively within the outlet for effective day-to-day operations (Teamwork)
- Compliance with all regulatory, governmental, and safety requirements
- Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment
- Knowledge of and compliance with department, property, and company policies and procedures
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the hotel/casino industry a plus
Responsibilities
- Deliver food to guests in a timely manner, based on specific shift assignments (e.g., food runner station or bar/drink runner station)
- Clear and reset tables for new seating in accordance with venue standards
- Ensure each table is ready for guests' arrival according to venue standards
- Approach newly seated guests, serving bread, butter, water, etc., in a timely and pleasant manner, collaborating with servers to expedite service
- Monitor tables to assess guests’ needs, anticipate, and respond to guest requests, keeping tables clear once meals are completed to maintain a clean eating area
- Restock and clean assigned station at the end of each shift, ensuring readiness for the next shift in accordance with Department of Health standards
- Attend pre-shift meetings
- Maintain a regular and consistent attendance record
- Participate as a team member with all servers, venue hosts, supervisors, and kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation
- Assist servers in their duties as required, including assistance with sidework
- Perform other duties as assigned by restaurant management
