About The Position

Start your day by doing good in your community! Join a vibrant team dedicated to driving our mission of feeding local communities while diverting over 2 million pounds of fresh food from landfills each week. Sharing Excess is a national non-profit organization focused on rescuing surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, wholesalers, and farmers, redistributing it to those in need. Having rescued over 180+ million pounds of food to date, we are committed to tackling food insecurity and waste across the country, with a special focus on Philadelphia – our home city. Food Rescue Van Drivers play a critical role in our weekend operations by collecting surplus food donations directly from retail grocery partners and delivering them to local community organizations. This is a fast-paced, physically active, mission-driven position requiring safe driving, consistent lifting, and strong customer service. Drivers operate non-CDL cargo vans, hand-load and unload food donations, and use our custom mobile app to log pickups and deliveries in real time. You will be a trusted, friendly face representing Sharing Excess at retail stores and community partner sites, ensuring food is handled with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
