Food Pantry Warehouse Worker Lead Job Compensation: $16.80 to $20.90 / Per Hour (depending on experience).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in warehouse, food pantry, logistics or distribution preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.
  • Proficient using computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to attend events or deliveries if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Forklift or pallet jack certification preferred (or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, sort, and organize food donations and program materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts of all food items and supplies using electronic systems.
  • Rotate stock following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Prepare food boxes, distribution bags, and materials for pantry events.
  • Assist with deliveries, pickups, and unloading shipments.
  • Ensure proper storage of refrigerated, frozen, and shelf-stable items.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the warehouse and pantry areas.
  • Support on-site and off-site food distribution events.
  • Assist clients respectfully, ensuring an inclusive and dignified experience.
  • Set up and break down distribution stations, tables, signage, and supplies.
  • Replenish food items during distribution to ensure smooth flow of service.
  • Use computer software systems for communication, task updates, reporting, and completing assigned program requirements.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for inventory logs, reports, documentation, and email communication.
  • Enter program data into approved systems (case notes, distribution counts, participant tracking).
  • Support preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual inventory or distribution reports as required.
  • Follow all UMOS, State and Federal safety procedures, including food safety, equipment operation, and warehouse protocols.
  • Report any hazards, damaged products, or incidents to the Warehouse Lead immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with state food handling guidelines and USDA/TEFAP requirements (if applicable).
  • Assist with special projects, community events, and seasonal food drives.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals.
