About The Position

The Food Pantry Assistant is responsible for helping with the day-to-day running of our food pantry. The role blends inventory management with customer service in a ministry environment. If you love a fast-paced environment and meeting new people, this position could be for you!

Requirements

• College degree in related field preferred but not required
• Competent user of computer and mobile computing device
• Prior work experience offering customer service
• ServSafe Certified, or ability to obtain

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a warehouse preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting community members visiting the Pantry to receive free food
• Recording incoming and outgoing food donations
• Recording client information in Link2Feed
• Submitting all daily inventory records to appropriate databases
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment that adheres to ServSafe regulations
• Assisting in safeguarding warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Participate in the ministry of Light of Life Rescue Mission and walk alongside clients sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them through actions and words.
• Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the Light of Life staff handbook.
• Practice effective stewardship of all resources.
