About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Operations Manager 1 for Springfield City Schools in Springfield, MA. This hands‑on leadership role supports and oversees multi‑site food service operations across 4–6 school locations, with responsibility for approximately 15–25 frontline employees. The Operations Manager 1 serves as a visible people leader, ensuring daily operational execution, food safety compliance, and consistency in service standards. Success in this role requires a confident, organized leader who can support and coach site teams, monitor operational basics, review key performance indicators, and maintain positive working relationships. At Sodexo, we deliver food, nutrition, environmental and facilities management solutions to partnered K-12 schools. Requirements

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively
  • have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Servsafe and a valid DL are required
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
