About The Position

A Food Expeditor ensures the smooth and timely flow of orders from the servers to the kitchen, checks dishes for accuracy and presentation, assists in final dish preparation, maintains fast service, handles customer complaints, and upholds quality and sanitation standards. The primary responsibility of a restaurant expeditor is to ensure that orders get to their table as quickly and accurately as possible. The expeditor passes customer orders to the kitchen staff; once they are ready, then inspect the dish to confirm that it complies with restaurant food quality standards. Open for job rotation of Server Assistant, Food Expeditor, and Buffet line Open to cross training Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment Adhere to the sanitation process and procedures Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed Learn the restaurant menu Work with restaurant colleagues to create a positive dining experience for guests Clear and sanitize all dirty tables after guest leave Alert servers to guests in need of attention Expeditors make sure the orders are being cooked in a timely fashion, so that all orders for a table are ready at the same time and make sure that once the food is cooked, servers run food to the table while it's warm and ready

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs.)
