About The Position

The Food & Beverage Manager at one of Oxford’s luxury or boutique-style hotels plays a critical role in leading and overseeing all dining and beverage operations. This position ensures the highest levels of service, quality, and guest satisfaction across restaurant, lounge, bar, in-room dining, and banquet outlets. A successful Food & Beverage Manager demonstrates strong leadership, sound financial judgment, and a passion for creating memorable hospitality experiences. This individual is responsible for driving revenue, managing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and service standards. The Food and Beverage Manager plays a key role in striving to meet and exceed Four-Star service standards delivering high-quality service and amenities with strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in every guest interaction, and consistently exceeding expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 4+ years of management experience 
  • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of all beverage outlets including restaurant, bar, in-room dining, and banquet service
  • Coordinate VIP and special event dining experiences, ensuring personalized, high-end service 
  • Implement and monitor service and quality standards, ensuring alignment with health and safety protocols, presentation expectations, and brand standards
  • Develop and manage beverage menus and seasonal drink promotions in collaboration with culinary leadership
  • Monitor staffing levels, create efficient schedules, and ensure proper coverage during peak periods and special event
  • Motivate and support team members with coaching, clear expectations, and consistent feedback for development and growth
  • Manage purchasing and inventory control for all beverage outlets, including ordering, receiving, and storage
  • Ensures operational continuity by assisting with shift coverage or duties during critical staffing gaps or absences
  • Oversee cleanliness and sanitation protocols across all beverage outlets, ensuring equipment, furnishings, and food-contact surfaces meet health and safety standards. Ensure appropriate supplies and tools are available to support safe drink preparation and storage
  • Maintain employee records concerning attendance, punctuality, and performance including performance evaluations
  • Work with the GM and Executive Chef to develop, plan, implement and follow through on programs and procedures to benefit the Company 
  • Attend hotel management meetings and conduct monthly team meetings to ensure flow of information is a priority 
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and revenue forecasts to maximize profitability
  • Analyze financial performance, sales trends, and inventory reports to improve operations
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly reports (beverage budgets, cost controls, labor, sales targets, inventories, etc.) 
  • Work in close partnership with the sales department to provide catering support and execute client meetings and events
  • Provides support and coverage across departments as needed, including emergencies or unplanned staffing shortages
  • Responds to employee needs either via phone or on-site with professionalism and timeliness ensuring that support is available to all shifts as needed. 
  • Ensures operational continuity by assisting with shift coverage or duties during critical staffing gaps or absences
  • Engage with guests in a warm, professional manner and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and effectively, maintaining a high level of discretion, sensitivity, and responsiveness
  • Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere in all dining spaces through presence, visibility, and proactive guest engagement
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, including front desk and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations
  • Ensure all staff maintain required certifications, such as food handlers' licenses and liquor permits 
  • Assist with other tasks as required to support the needs of the hotel and food and beverage operations
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Other Hotel related duties as assigned
