About The Position

JOB OVERVIEW: Assist in managing the Food and Beverage operations of the hotel, to ensure the achievement of established F&B quality and guest service quality standards and departmental revenue and profit goals. The F&B Manager’s primary role will be to manage and ensure the success of all Banquet events, while maintaining profitable operation and high-quality products and service levels. They will also monitor the daily operations of the Food and Beverage Department and provide support and guidance to fellow Outlet and Culinary personnel when needed. Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures. Serve as Food and Beverage Director in his/her absence.

Requirements

  • High School graduate and/or some college
  • Training in food and beverage operations, primarily in banquets preferred
  • 2 years related experience preferably in a facility of similar size and complexity, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
  • This job requires ability to perform the following: Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds Handling food objects and products Bending, stooping, kneeling

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, culinary arts, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
  • Monitor performance and recommend corrective action.
  • Alert management of potentially serious issues.
  • Respond in a prompt and professional manner to guest requests and complaints.
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee cash handling and check/credit policies and procedures.
  • Inspect Food & Beverage areas to ensure high quality food and food presentation and cleanliness.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events. Review daily specials.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • May routinely greet guests and serve food and beverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Monitor quality of service in banquet operations
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure compliance with SOP’s in all F&B areas
  • Understand and be able to prepare payroll and tip distribution
  • Coordinate all banquet related Food and Beverage requirements with the appropriate department
  • Keep kitchen informed of accurate counts for plating
  • Review menu/service with the Director of Food & Beverage
  • Maintain up to date details on banquet functions and communicate to managers
  • Make personal contact with guests and assist them with any requests
  • Supervise proper tabulation of all banquet checks and ensure that all checks are presented to guests for signature
  • Ensure safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas
  • Oversee banquet set-up assignments
