About The Position

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Food & Beverage Attendant to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining. Want to learn more? Responsibilities

  • Set and prepare tables for dining, including, but not limited to, folding napkins, cleaning and placing tableware, serving water, etc.
  • Stock, maintain and clean designated food station(s).
  • Transport food items to and from the kitchen.
  • Serve hot and cold food courses and or alcoholic beverages to guests and Members.
  • Replenish beverages as needed.
  • Retrieve and transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
  • Restock outlet(s) with inventory and break down the buffet to clean, replace and set for next day
  • Stock ice, glassware, and supplies. Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs promptly.
  • Answer questions on menu selections. Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Record transaction in Point of Sale system at time of order and present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment when applicable.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout dining experience and/or after each delivery of food and beverage items.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations and securing coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
  • Requisition all necessary supplies, transporting supplies from storeroom to set-up area as required
  • Document pertinent information in department logbook. Forecast additional meal requirements and communicate special requests to the kitchen.
  • All other duties as assigned.
