About The Position

The FOIA Analyst II is responsible for processing and responding to requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act. Plays a critical role in facilitating transparency and accountability by processing and responding to FOIA requests. Ensures that the organization complies with legal requirements, protects sensitive information, and provides access to public records as mandated by the Freedom of Information Act. Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust – Tier IV High-Risk Background Investigation clearance.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test as required by the federal government.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, FIPS, FIRST, FOIAXpress, FOIAOnline, Relativity (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, equivalent prior military experience may be substituted) and and two to five (2-5) years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Redacts personally identifiable information (PII) and non-push-up data from each score sheet in the extracted batch by following the provided Instructional Guide and any necessary training by OCC attorneys and paralegals.
  • Consults with OCC if there are any questions regarding the redaction.
  • Provides refracted score sheets in one merged file to OCC attorneys and paralegals on the first of each month until the review and production is completed.
  • As requested, and following training by OCC attorneys and/or paralegal and/or CBP Office of Informational Technology (OIT) e-Discovery team, professionally and timely review e-mail messages that are potentially considered responsive records, and respond to these inquires received via FOIA request.
  • Redacts e-mail messages, as necessary.
