Summary The Focus Sales Manager - Turbo Gears Service Sales has the primary customer interface responsibilities for supporting Voith's Turbo Gear (high-speed gearboxes and couplings) aftermarket product line in USA. This position provides technical as well as commercial sales support and product selection, product pricing, and quotation support for our Turbo Gear Industry products. These high-speed gearboxes and couplings are used in various high performance industrial mechanical power transmission applications. This position requires a solid understanding of high-speed gearboxes and mechanical rotating equipment power transmission applications. Although the primary responsibility of this position is to sell Voith's Turbo Gear products and services, Voith also has numerous other products that should also be a focus of the sales efforts, even though these products are secondary in focus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a technical science from four-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant Application Engineering and/or Sales experience in Power Transmission Industry.
  • Experience in sales of high dollar value capital equipment or components (esp. in gearboxes, couplings, bearings and other rotating machinery drive train components).
  • Demonstrate effective communication & collaboration teamwork skills
  • Good interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain successful working relationships within the company, with the group team, and with customers.
  • Ability to multi-task based on business needs.
  • Excellent time management skills and good written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work from home and/or office (good internet & cell phone service) required

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains new as well as existing aftermarket customers (End-users, OEM's, Consultants & Distributor) accounts.
  • Analyze customers' technical specifications for drive components in industrial drive applications.
  • Make initial product selections which meet the customer drive specifications using Voith selection and pricing tools for our high speed gearbox products.
  • Communicate with internal Voith application engineering team and global product sales support team (Germany) as required to confirm selections, generate pricing & quotes (price indication quotes as well as detailed firm quotes)
  • Provide engineering assistance, technical and product presentations. Establish and review on an annual basis agreed targets for the product line.
  • Provide sales and marketing information as required; develop business plans, sales strategies and forecasts.
  • Support the global VT2030 Growth plan for Turbo Gear with both our service of our current install base for Turbo Gears.
  • Participate at industry trade shows and coordinate Voith marketing activities (Voith attends a several industry trade shows each year. This may include set up and dismantle trade booth)
  • Maintains all sales activities and customer relationship management through Voith's Salesforce CRM program.
  • Support Voith marketing companies when projects are of an international scope with either end-user accounts, OEM accounts, or engineering/consulting accounts are based in the USA.
  • Domestic travel required, ~ 30-40 % of the time. Primary travel in the USA and occasionally to Germany as required.
  • Work with both our new equipment and After-Market Business groups for replacements and retrofit opportunities.
  • Preparedness to work the occasional weekend as the job function requires, for instance exhibition attendance or customer emergency support.
  • Special projects as assigned by management.
