The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City’s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts. The New York City Department of Correction seeks to recruit a highly motivated individual to serve as the FMLA Leave Coordinator within the Human Resources Personnel Division. Under the direction of the Director of Employee Services, the FMLA Leave Coordinator will play a critical role in administering and managing all aspects of employee leave programs, including Family Medical Leave (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), Paid Family Leave (PFL), and Childcare Leave. The FMLA Leave Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all leave requests are processed in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, while maintaining accurate documentation and data integrity across employee records. This position requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication with employees, supervisors, and external partners to provide clear guidance and consistent support on leave-related matters.
