About The Position

Fluids Technician I is an entry-level industrial-services role with responsibility for assisting in the maintenance, testing and management of metalworking fluids and lubrication systems at customer facilities. This position performs routine service activities such as fluid testing, equipment checks, and safe chemical handling while following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs,) 5S workplace practices, and all company and customer safety requirements. The role provides training and on-the-job experience designed to support skill development and advancement to higher technician levels.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; directly applicable experience might be considered.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Interest in working with tools, pumps and industrial equipment; basic troubleshooting skills are helpful.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., bend, climb and stand for extended periods.
  • Work Habits: Reliable attendance, punctuality and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Technical Skills: Basic math and data entry skills for fluid testing, measurements and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Flexibility: Willing to work varying shifts or occasional overtime as customer needs require.
  • Growth Mindset: Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in customer facility. Desire to learn new skills, complete required training, and pursue advancement within the company.
  • Transportation: Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to customer facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily service and maintenance of metalworking fluids and lubrication systems.
  • Perform basic testing and monitoring of metalworking fluids and lubricants.
  • Assist with fluid changes, top-offs, filter changes, and system cleanings scheduled or required.
  • Accurately collect and record data related to fluid condition, usage, and service activities.
  • Safely handle, store, and transfer industrial chemicals in compliance with company and customer safety standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including chemical handling and spill prevention.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment (5S standards) by keeping tools, containers, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
