About The Position

The Floral Manager leads and oversees daily operations of the Floral Department, ensuring outstanding customer service, high‑quality product standards, strong merchandising execution, and compliance with all company programs and food safety guidelines. This role is responsible for department sales performance, labor management, shrink control, inventory, and the training and leadership of floral associates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years retail floral, design, or merchandising experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong floral design and visual merchandising skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales trends and adjust production accordingly.
  • Proficiency with store systems, ordering platforms, and basic computer tools.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40–50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in cooler environments for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for trimming, arranging, wrapping, and handling floral product.
  • Reliable attendance and scheduling flexibility required.
  • Must follow company safety standards, food safety guidelines, and Code of Business Conduct.
  • Must comply with company policies, merchandising standards, and sanitation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a welcoming, customer‑focused Floral Department with emphasis on creativity, product knowledge, and service excellence.
  • Assist customers with product selection, custom arrangements, special orders, events, and consultations.
  • Provide clear daily direction to floral associates and ensure all service expectations are met.
  • Build a strong service culture through coaching, modeling, and accountability.
  • Execute all Company and Division floral merchandising plans, seasonal programs, holiday sets, and promotional displays.
  • Create visually appealing arrangements and displays aligned with sales goals and seasonal trends.
  • Ensure floral cases, tables, stands, and displays are full, fresh, rotated, and properly signed.
  • Maintain compliance with planograms, pricing, and promotional execution standards.
  • Monitor and maintain plant health, hydration, freshness, and overall appearance.
  • Design, prepare, and merchandise floral arrangements, bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, gift baskets, and special‑occasion items.
  • Follow company production guidelines for quality, cost control, and efficiency.
  • Maintain proper storage, prep, and handling procedures for cut flowers, arrangements, and plants.
  • Safely operate floral tools and equipment, including cutters, trimmers, buckets, and coolers.
  • Order product accurately to maintain in‑stock conditions while controlling shrink and waste.
  • Receive, hydrate, condition, and rotate incoming floral product according to freshness standards.
  • Track inventory, markdowns, and waste; maintain accurate logs.
  • Ensure organized cooler storage, FIFO rotation, and timely removal of unsellable product.
  • Ensure all sanitation, safety, and health standards are followed throughout the department.
  • Maintain clean workstations, floral coolers, prep areas, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with labeling standards, chemical storage requirements, and product handling guidelines.
  • Complete and maintain required temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and compliance documentation.
  • Create and manage weekly schedules that align with business needs and labor targets.
  • Assign daily tasks and verify completion of production and merchandising duties.
  • Complete required administrative tasks including ordering logs, production plans, waste tracking, and promotional planning.
  • Enforce time‑clock policies, labor laws, dress code, and attendance standards.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing floral associates.
  • Provide coaching, recognition, and corrective action as needed.
  • Promote cross‑training to ensure coverage and operational flexibility.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
