About The Position

The Floor Person/Day Porter position requires lifting, loading, unloading, and assembling furniture. In addition, individual will perform cleaning and basic maintenance duties to ensure a clean and properly maintained store. Requirements

  • Physical strength and stamina required to lift and move furniture, boxes, and equipment. Must be able to lift, lower, and push 100 lbs. on a repetitive daily basis.
  • Individual must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop and reach. on a repetitive daily basis.
  • Must be flexible to work a retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be reliable as attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trailers.
  • Load furniture and accessories in customer vehicles.
  • Engage customers in a courteous, helpful, and respectful manner; promptly and politely responds to customer inquiries, and customer requests.
  • Assemble furniture.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Move and place furniture on the showroom floor.
  • Assist with inventory control and processes.
  • Keep the showroom clean and organized.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Gather and empty trash and dispose in waste receptacles.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or supplies.
  • Follows all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Perform additional duties that may be assigned at the discretion of management.
