About The Position

The Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Agency facility and its outlying buildings in order to provide a clean, sanitary and attractive environment for clients, visitors and employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of cleaning experience required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year working in a residential, hospital, or school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determine accurate equipment and supplies needed to clean and maintain floors.
  • Strip, wax, scrub and recoat floors.
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Buff and maintain hard floors.
  • Keep equipment clean and in sound working condition.
  • Dust mop the floor for any loose debris and remove any gum residue.
  • Use specific chemical solutions crafted for flooring equipment.
  • Use accurate chemical dilution ratios according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure no residue is left on the baseboard and kick plates or stainless-steel surfaces.
  • Use caution signs or caution tape appropriately when performing any project work that can result in a personal injury.
  • Remove trash and mop floors as advised.
  • Report the need for maintenance repairs to the Director of Environmental Services.
  • Communicate with clients and employees in a positive and professional manner.
  • Work closely with and maintain routine contact with Supervisor to improve customer service.
  • Ensure adherence to standard precaution practices and accurate infection control procedures.
  • Store and secure all equipment, tools, cleaning supplies and chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Work with fellow employees as a team participant.
  • Ensure storage room doors are closed and always locked.
  • Remain in their assigned work area for the duration of their shift.
  • Close and lock all doors and windows and turn off lights before exiting a building.
