About The Position

Flightline Operations Manager (AOG) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Flightline Operations Manager responsible for overseeing the AOG (Airplane on Ground) operations, ensuring that aircraft grounded due to incident, maintenance or technical issues are returned to service as quickly and efficiently as possible. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing resources, and maintaining communication with customers and stakeholders to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Current holder of an FAA A&P License or the aircraft years and experience necessary to obtain an FAA Repairman's certificate
  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft delivery, maintenance repair, and/or Aircraft on Ground (AOG)
  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements
  • Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced role with strict deadlines
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally 50% - with short notice and for potentially extended periods of time (must possess or be able to obtain a United States passport)

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • Experience in a role that requires excellent communication, project management, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Experience working with live customers and managing IAM hourly or SPEEA representative employees
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, repair, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • AOG Operations Management Lead and manage the AOG team to ensure timely response to AOG situations
  • Develop comprehensive repair plans to return AOG aircraft back to service
  • Perform damage surveys to evaluate severity of damage to grounded aircraft
  • Develop comprehensive repair plans including cost estimate, resolution timeline, personnel and logistics
  • Coordination and Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for AOG-related issues, liaising with internal teams and customers
  • Provide regular updates to customers on AOG status and resolution timelines
  • Resource Management: Ensure availability of necessary parts, tools, and personnel to address AOG situations promptly
  • Manage relationships with supporting organizations to secure expedited support and resources
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Analyze AOG situations to determine best approach to return aircraft back to service
  • Make quick decisions to resolve AOG issues while considering safety, cost, and operational impact
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all AOG operations comply with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the AOG team
