About the Role: Skydio is seeking an enthusiastic Flight Test Operator to help ensure that the units we are shipping to customers are of the highest quality. This role requires a rigorous approach to field testing complex systems and their capabilities across a wide spectrum of environmental and operating conditions. Logistics: Based in Fort Collins, Colorado , candidate must have reliable transportation in order to drive between Christman Airfield and other testing sites. This is an hourly non-exempt position with a 12 Month Contract

Requirements

  • You have reliable transportation for traveling to and from testing sites
  • Drone testing background
  • Experience testing native mobile applications (iOS, Android)
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for things that fly
  • Very detail-oriented communication and a tenacity for documentation
  • Test experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Interest in spending lots of time outdoors
  • High School / Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Part 107 License
  • Quarterly Travel to HQ (San Mateo, CA) for Together Weeks

Responsibilities

  • Support testing efforts on stable-master Test Skydio drones in a designated outdoor environment, verifying the ability to perform the operations / maneuvers as instructed
  • Test and evaluate the joystick controllers that accompany the Skydio drones
  • Record and track bugs through to resolution, identifying trends and communicating them with the manufacturing team
  • Identify problems and proactively work with flight test engineers to capture issues (summarizing bugs through the JIRA ticketing system)
  • Aid additional partner teams in their investigations of flight performance (partner teams studying hardware sensitivity to software updates)
