This position supports the F-35 Full Motion Simulator (FMS) at MCAS Cherry Point, NC, playing a vital role in delivering world-class training experiences for pilots. The successful candidate will support the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of F-35 training devices, working closely with the Lockheed Martin training team to fulfill F-35 training objectives. This role involves installing components, performing preventive maintenance, updating maintenance records, assisting with modifications, maintaining simulation devices to meet availability specifications, and applying technical knowledge to solve complex problems. The candidate will also assist with F-35 software package installations, isolate and report malfunctions, document cabling schemes, and establish maintenance programs. Compliance with site security and access control procedures, and sanitization of classified media are also key aspects.

Requirements

Possess a current Final Secret security clearance with a re-investigation within the last 5 years
Possess a current Security+ certification, or the ability to obtain within three months from date-of-hire as a condition of continued employment
Demonstrated background with problem/incident management
Demonstrated background with hardware / software change management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work unsupervised towards program goals
Strong systems administration background
Ability to obtain and maintain a F-35 Program special access
Willingness to work a flexible schedule aligned to customer operational needs

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree
Aviation simulator experience
Proven hardware and software support experience in a training/modeling and simulation environment
Network troubleshooting and maintenance experience
Experience working in classified/access controlled facilities
Ability to brief/teach technical information to internal and external audiences
ALIS/CMMS experience
LINUX experience

Responsibilities

Support the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of F-35 training devices
Install components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities
Perform, conduct, and document preventive maintenance checks required for the devices and associated subsystems
Update maintenance data collection records
Assist with the installation and check-out of modifications to equipment
Maintain simulation devices to meet availability specifications
Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals, or simulator documents
Assist with installations, testing, and maintenance of F-35 software packages
Isolate and report malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels
Documents and maintain cabling schemes and drawings
Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards
Work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team on site to fulfill F-35 training objectives
Implement, and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies as directed
Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with JSF program and customer procedures
Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established JSF and customer procedures
