About The Position
The Flight Paramedic functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence. The Flight Paramedic provides advanced emergency/critical are in conjunction with a CareFlight Nurse during transport. The Flight Paramedic utilizes evidence-based principles to provide safe and rapid transport of critically ill or injured patients by air ambulance or mobile intensive care to a higher-level medical treatment facility. The Flight Paramedic provides advanced emergency/critical care during medical transport and may also provide care within their scope of practice throughout Premier Health. This position also includes public relations and medical education functions.
Requirements
- High School completion / GED
- Certified as a Paramedic in the State of Ohio
- Paramedic in the State of Ohio
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required at the time of hire
- ITLS or PHTLS certifications are required within 90 Days of hire
- NRP certification is required within 1 Year of hire
- ATLS (audit) is required within 1 Year of hire
- CAMTS approved professional certification is required within 2 Years of hire
- 3 - 5 years of job related experience
- Paramedic with transport experience
Nice To Haves
- Preferred to have recent full-time active experience with 911 Emergency Service Agency or MICU Transport Company
