About The Position

BE PART OF THE ADVENTURE! Pink Jeep Tours is looking for an experienced upholsterer to disassemble, prepare and repair a variety of upholstery components on our tour vehicles and Jeeps. You must apply on our website to be considered - www.pinkadventuretours.com The upholsterer will disassemble, prepare and repair a variety of company vehicles as well as other projects assigned. This position entails minor interior repair work, fabricating and recovering seats, bar pads and canopy covers along with Jeep enclosures. This position will remove and install repaired seating, canopy or trim work when required. The upholsterer will also help in other areas of the Fleet as needed i.e. painting.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/G.E.D
  • Valid driver license with acceptable MVD record
  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Minimum 2 years professional sewing and/or upholstery experience
  • Able to operate vehicles including test driving in traffic and off-road trails
  • Experience and ability driving a manual transmission vehicle
  • Knowledge of industrial sewing machine and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance
  • Proficient in sewing machine operation
  • Understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
  • Read work orders, instructions, formulas or processing charts
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Basic Math skills, metric conversion, use of calculator
  • Basic computer/PC skills to perform data entry and research
  • English language comprehension and speaking; Legible writing
  • Applies applicable quality control and safety measures
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Time management skills and able to prioritize workload
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effectively communicates and shares knowledge with co-workers

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates vehicle upholstery needs and prepares general estimates and timeline for repairs
  • Removes parts or materials needed for repair
  • Clean and inspect vehicle areas covered by upholstery to determine if more repairs are needed
  • Inspect seat belts and safety equipment to determine replacement needs
  • Perform repairs or replace needed upholstery materials
  • Reinstall repaired or replaced items and prepare the vehicle / project for return to service
  • Check fit and finish of newly repaired items and check seat belt installation
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner
  • Assists with rescues as needed
  • Assists with Painting when requested
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Enter repairs into the fleet software program documenting labor time, materials and parts used for repair
  • Keep track of material / product stocking levels and reorder as necessary to keep from running out of regularly used products
  • Assemble project material needs lists for special projects
  • Communicate with parts department on material / parts orders
  • Work with supplier vendor representatives on new products or services
