About The Position

The Fleet Specialist will assist fleet leadership and will support Andersen's private fleet drivers to ensure that they have the tools and information required to execute their work effectively. In addition, this role will be responsible for collaborating with both internal and external teams to ensure transparency of the business, provide a positive delivery experience to our customers and a safety-first culture to the drivers that they support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a logistics operation
  • Basic skills with Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Strong, professional communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate people.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of transportation planning, commercial motor vehicle operations and equipment.
  • Proficient in DOT compliance

Nice To Haves

  • CDL-A license holder beneficial
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Manage labor capacity of the fleet. In addition, schedule the work and duties of the fleet and audit driver payroll, driver e-logs, PTO.
  • Coordinate returned product, backhaul freight, customer related issues, delivery issues, jobsite/specialized deliveries, and communicate delays, issues, operational disruptions to cross-functional groups.
  • Perform ride-a-longs and provide feedback on driver performance. In addition, provide driver feedback to cross-functional groups for continuous improvement purposes.
  • Manage utilization, performance and maintenance of fleet equipment (tractor, trailer, safety). In addition, complete yard-checks, as needed.
  • Act as a liaison for 3rd party carrier partners to ensure Andersen business requirements are met daily
  • Manage commercial DOT driver compliance. Coordinate required training and needed certification of the fleet.
  • Aid drivers in solving operational issues. In addition, provide technical assistance to drivers for both hardware and software issues.
  • Assist in developing improvements to SQDCE metrics
  • If CDL certified, may be asked to handle local recovery deliveries
  • Assist in driver recruiting/onboarding.
