About The Position

Assists internal and external customers with the service and repair request for their vehicle or equipment to ensure that the problem is addressed and the problem is corrected in a timely manner. Also assists in the parts department operations ensuring that the right parts are ordered and price is recorded on the work order, maintaining and tracking parts inventory and accessories.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years experience in service advisor and parts.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's license.
  • Knowledge of properly operating and maintaining an inventory control system.
  • Knowledge of operating a fleet management software system.
  • Knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of a vehicle/equipment fleet and knowledge of records management methods and techniques.
  • Skill in operating and maintaining inventory systems and operating modern office equipment.
  • Ability to make decisions independently and in accordance with established policy.
  • Ability to train staff/employees and communicate with individuals from different backgrounds and with different communication abilities.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions of a technical and professional nature and establish and maintain working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, using organized thoughts.
  • Ability to perform work while sitting, standing, bending, crouching or stooping.
  • Ability to occasionally lift light or heavy objects weighing more than 60 pounds, climb ladders, use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity and be able to distinguish between shades of color.

Responsibilities

  • Greets all customers promptly, and provides timely professional services.
  • Provides excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests, by asking questions so as to ensure understanding of their request, and that repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • A work order is opened with a customer's service request or repairs on the work order before being given to the shop supervisor to have work performed.
  • Make sure all protected covers have been installed in the vehicle and the ID card has been attached to the inside mirror/windshield, keys, and work order.
  • Close work order after all repairs have been completed and ensure that all parts, labor, and comments have been completed. All work orders are to be closed daily and filed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers.
  • Inform customer on the status of vehicle if unable to complete in a timely manner. Notify the customer when work has been completed and the vehicle is ready for pick-up
  • Follows up with the customer to ensure that their needs have been met. Make sure a customer service survey is placed in all vehicles.
  • Pull parts from inventory and distribute as needed to technicians, order parts if not a stock part or not in inventory.
  • When a part arrives from the vendor distribute it to the shop supervisor as soon as possible. Re-set fuel key after repairs have been completed.
  • Order parts to replenish inventory as needed.
  • Check oil, anti-freeze, and other fluid levels in storage tanks on a weekly basis and record, order when needed.
  • Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.
