In this role you will oversee and manage the delivery of roadside service in assigned territory operating from our West Springfield MA fleet location. You'll work with Supervisory staff to execute the business strategy, focusing on member service experience. This position will act as a coach and mentor to Assistant Managers and Fleet Supervisors to assist with meeting/exceeding sales & job performance goals while operating under the guidelines of Automotive Services.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Required
  • Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of six plus years of operational management experience within the automotive, logistics, transportation or related industry is required.
  • Management or supervisory experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • DOT Medical Card Required

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the function and/or staff, ensuring proper staffing and training levels of all team members with a focus on development and building bench strength while also complying with appropriate professional standards, laws, regulations, and operating within the Club’s mission, leadership values, and the members’ interest. Develops multi-year plans/budgets and manages the integration of all aspects of the function across all required Business Lines and geographies supported; maintaining knowledge and awareness of new developments in the function, and potential applications to further Club initiatives, and make recommendations regarding the use of internal vs. external services, reporting on such activities and proposals and managing ongoing vendor relationships.
  • Manages supervisory team to establish & reinforce clear agreements of performance, compliance, and service quality standards with technicians while fostering a culture of engagement, openness, and accountability. Ensures supervisor team support through regular quality ride-alongs, monthly performance reports, and team meetings.
  • Evaluates schedules to ensure optimal coverage and cost-effective service delivery, approving overtime as necessary. Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies for all Fleet facilities develops tactics and works with Assistant managers and Supervisors to implement. Provides the resources, tools, training, and support needed to ensure operations meet or exceed established goals. Analyzes and evaluates resource requirements for assigned regions, including seasonal staff, making recommendations to ensure service levels are met.
  • Oversees hiring, training, and performance management of fleet staff, including the management team. Partners with Human Resources with performance management and salary actions. Guides employee development efforts. Reviews training to ensure effectiveness and makes recommendations regarding training with a focus on service delivery, technology, cash management, and operational and personal safety. Administers employee incentive programs, monitoring budget impact and program effectiveness.
  • Responsible thru Assistant Manager for maintenance of fleet vehicles and garage equipment, ensuring adherence to preventive maintenance schedules. Performs periodic inspections of physical plants for assigned regions. Reviews inventory needs and authorizes purchase orders. Works with Managing Director, Fleet Operations to determine yearly truck sales/acquisitions.
  • Ensures collaboration exists between dispatch, field, and fleet teams. Makes effective use of technology in specific regions to improve efficiency and overall performance (i.e. response time, member satisfaction, battery).
  • Reinforces Club’s safety culture. Oversees all fleet activities with respect for DOT, OSHA, and Club safety guidelines and regulations. Works with Safety Manager to ensure compliance at all times.
  • Oversees damage claims and accident processes, ensuring complete and thorough documentation in conformance to Club standards. Partners with Member Relations staff to resolve legitimate member claims expeditiously, maintaining goodwill. Keeps Managing Director, Fleet Operations abreast of all member issues.
