About The Position

Job Summary: The Fleet Equipment Manager works under the direction of the Director of Fleet & Logistics; Responsible for overseeing the companies powered warehouse equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations as well as assist with tracking, auditing and reporting out on K&M’s truck fleet. This role manages equipment acquisition, maintenance, vendor relationships and ensures company compliance on equipment is met while optimizing equipment longevity and controlling costs. Help define and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the department. Influences strategic and tactical fleet decisions that create win-win opportunities for K&M.

  • Knowledge and ability to use the following software: Excel – intermediate/advance, word, teams, and outlook.
  • Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax and calculator.
  • Knowledge of power equipment including Forklifts, squeeze clamps and order pickers
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • 5+ years of warehouse equipment experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the company’s powered warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure K&M fleet equipment is kept in good working order; maintenance and any costs associated are both cost effective and user efficient.
  • Oversee the equipment maintenance, repairs and leases.
  • Review/audit equipment maintenance logs and costs.
  • Plan and execute on K&M’s equipment lifecycle management.
  • Assisting in disposition of equipment removed from service.
  • Working closely with Operations on equipment questions and concerns.
  • Working closely with safety, vendors, service managers, and security as needed with regards to equipment.
  • Assist with new and used equipment deliveries.
  • Work directly with Operations, equipment dealers, and shops to ensure we have the correct brands, size, and types of equipment in our locations.
  • Develop and track KPI’s to track and measure items such as costs, reliability, over-due services, etc.
  • Establish and maintain on-going lines of communication with other departments.
  • Serve as project coordinator for department specific projects.
  • Maintain professional demeanor during interactions with others.
  • Research new products, as necessary.
  • Assist in future department developments or initiatives.
  • Audit, troubleshooting, and communicate maintenance issues/irregularities.
  • Responsible for managing and resolving conflict in the work environment by using the company values as a guide.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
  • Support company goals and uphold K&M.
