About The Position

At Felix Construction, we don’t just build infrastructure—we build careers, communities, and futures. Felix Construction is seeking a Fleet Director to lead the strategic and operational oversight of our vehicle and equipment fleet across all regions. This role is critical to ensuring our fleet supports our self-performing construction model with efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with deep expertise in fleet operations, compliance, vendor management, and fleet technology systems. Your Mission As our first-ever Fleet Director, you’ll lead the charge for a scalable, safe, and cost-effective fleet program—evaluating current systems, implementing data-driven processes, and establishing standards that ensure reliability, compliance and efficiency across every vehicle and piece of equipment we own. You'll also spend some time traveling to develop and lead our current teams across Arizona and Texas, with regional needs and company-wide goals. You'll champion smart asset management, maximize equipment uptime, and strengthen our ability to deliver critical infrastructure projects.

  • Proven leadership experience managing large, distributed teams.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA, and FMCSA regulations.
  • Expertise in fleet procurement, lifecycle strategy, and compliance management.
  • Familiarity with UL standards and working knowledge of telematics and fleet management systems.
  • Demonstrated success reducing operating costs and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, build reports, and translate findings into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a nationwide team of Sr. Fleet Managers, mechanics, and support staff to drive performance and safety.
  • Partner with regional General Managers to align fleet operations with project and business needs.
  • Manage daily operations for all fleet assets, including vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and specialty units.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and FMCSA requirements.
  • Implement and maintain fleet management systems, GPS tracking, telematics, and reporting dashboards.
  • Monitor asset utilization and reallocation to maximize operational efficiency and reduce idle equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, inspections, registrations, and certifications.
  • Lead incident investigation protocols, implement driver safety programs, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive fleet budget (fuel, leasing, maintenance, lifecycle planning).
  • Analyze cost-per-mile and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor relationships for maintenance, leasing, fuel, and equipment technology.

Benefits

  • Become an Owner, Not Just an Employee: As a 100% employee-owned company, our success is your success. Our ESOP program is the foundation of our culture, fostering a unique environment of shared accountability, commitment, and reward.
  • Discretionary annual bonus program

  • 8 paid company holidays
  • Vehicle allowance or company truck and fuel card
