About The Position

A Work-Fit Wellness & Fitness Specialist is responsible for supporting current Work-Fit customers to exceed customer expectations by collaborating on the planning, organizing, communicating, developing, delivering, and measuring of Work-Fit services. A Wellness & Fitness Specialist will contribute to the advancement of Work-Fit's quality and compliance to support service growth and excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Work-Fit/Customer specified health field such as Health Promotion, Exercise Physiology, Fitness, or Health/Wellness, from an accredited college or university.
  • Maintain CPR/AED certification.
  • 3 years of professional experience in a specified health field.
  • Experience in delivery of services within fitness center, fitness programming, group fitness instruction, wellness and health promotion campaigns, presentations, events and projects.
  • Effective written (including proper grammar and spelling) and oral communication skills with individuals as well as group settings.
  • Ability to manage time to ensure all duties and responsibilities are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to conduct on-line research.
  • Proficient with use of electronic recordkeeping database and client databases (as applicable to each Program).
  • Comfortable in the delivery of service in various work environments such as manufacturing, warehousing, office, and outdoors.
  • Maintain a consistent and flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Work-Fit Team and Work-Fit customers.

  • Professional certification in the specified health field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support employee usage of fitness facilities
  • See that participants are properly oriented to the facility, rules and guidelines, and use of equipment.
  • Support facility usage to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of participants.
  • Assist participants with their program design and performance based on goals, capabilities, and constraints.
  • Be available for participant questions, concerns, and suggestions.
  • Enforce rules on equipment usage etiquette, safety, and hygiene.
  • Have ability to provide some group fitness instruction.
  • Monitor instructor preparation and punctuality.
  • Facilitate instructor success (e.g., room scheduling, equipment availability).
  • Audit classes to verify exercise appropriateness and participant safety.
  • Invite participant feedback on classes and instructors.
  • Communicate class availability, schedule, and changes.
  • Instruct classes as approved.
  • Ensure that equipment is in good working order.
  • Perform regular equipment checks.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance and escort suppliers within the facility.
  • Report equipment maintenance and replacement needs to the client Boeing Program Manager.
  • Complete annual capital inventory and submit as instructed.
  • Perform regular facility walk-throughs - checking for equipment and facility issues that need attention.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards and report issues to the client Program Manager.
  • Manage supplies inventory and ordering.
  • Perform first-aid kit and AED checks to ensure availability and proper function.
  • Carry out regular drills in emergency scenarios.
  • Verify that emergency instructions are posted (address, phone numbers)
  • Establish relationships with key site stakeholders (Well Being Ops, Industrial Athlete team members, Industrial Athlete and Well Being Program Managers, Fitness team, Medical Clinic team, site leadership, Human Resource team, and Environmental, Health and Safety team).
  • Promote client Well Being (WB) programs following the annual planning calendar, including but not limited to:
  • Establish and maintain a regular staff/crew meeting presentation cadence.
  • Keep stakeholders informed via meetings and email.
  • Implement the central communications plan and supplement with local opportunities.
  • Collaborate with local Industrial Athlete team to leverage the established factory relationships and processes.
  • Use job conditioning cool-down time to introduce programs and suppliers.
  • Maintain WB promotional boards with current program materials.
  • Work with WB Ops to plan flu shot programs, screening events, and campaigns.
  • Set up local events to emphasize programs (e.g., interactive displays in cafeterias).
  • Work with site leadership to develop local incentive programs to promote awareness and usage.
  • Support related programs as needed (e.g., Mother's room usage, therapy dog events, on-site 5Ks, blood donation drives, benefits fairs, safety fairs, family day, etc.).
  • Use Health Assessment data to identify local risks and program needs.
  • Communicate issues and program plans to leaders and get their support.
  • Report on targets, participation, survey data, and risk trends.
