JOB SUMMARY: Greet members as they enter and exit the Fitness Center. Provide members with towels and locker keys. Answer the phone promptly and professionally; fold towels; maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk; follow all policies and reservation procedures. Build rapport and learn the names of most, if not all, members. Ring up sales on the computer and run reports. Organize kids’ crafts, monthly events, and children’s games. Perform other duties as assigned by the Fitness Center Director.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, and follow written and/or oral directions in English.
Customer service experience is required.
Must have knowledge of common courtesy, the ability to perform multiple tasks, and strong organizational skills.
Must be able to work standing on feet for several hours at a time.
Must be able to lift, carry, and move a minimum of 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Fitness center experience is helpful but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Be punctual and arrive to work on time, consistently.
Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Wear proper uniform, neat and in good repair, with nametag; maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Be a team player and a positive role model to staff and team members.
Maintain clean and neat hair in a becoming style (management has final approval).
Be proficient in all appropriate equipment and safety features.
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
Keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
Give out towels and locker keys to members.
Answer phones, forward calls, or take detailed messages and deliver to appropriate person.
Maintain all logs and files.
Learn Point of Sale (POS) computer system and ring in all sales.
Sign in new members and guests.
Assist in the nursery as needed, working with members’ children.
Assist in quality member service as assigned by the Assistant Fitness Center Director or Fitness Center Director.
Keep binders organized and up to date; make copies as needed.
Maintain pro shop apparel order forms and displays.
