About The Position

The Sunshine House is seeking a First Steps 4K Assistant Teacher to join their team. For 50 years, The Sunshine House has been dedicated to nurturing young minds and helping children thrive, providing high-quality early education and childcare for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old across more than 100 schools in 7 states. This role involves shaping a child’s future by ensuring a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment, creating an engaging classroom, supporting social and emotional development, and fostering a love of learning through Creative Curriculum and Brain Connect programs. Teachers are also responsible for building strong partnerships with families and implementing the SC state First Steps 4K curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten success.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with young children.
  • At least 18-years-old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working in licensed childcare.
  • Ability to pass background checks & health assessments.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies.
  • Coursework in Early Childhood Development (ECD) 101 at minimum

  • Support children’s social and emotional development.
  • Foster a love of learning through Creative Curriculum and our Brain Connect programs.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through daily app updates and personal discussions.
  • Implement the SC state First Steps 4K curriculum to prepare children for success in kindergarten.
  • Welcome our families. Engage them in conversation about their child's education, and the features and benefits of our programs.
