About The Position

The Sunshine House is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a First Steps 4K Assistant Teacher. For 50 years, The Sunshine House has been committed to nurturing young minds and helping children thrive, providing high-quality early education and childcare for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The company operates over 100 schools across 7 states, focusing on building a solid educational and social foundation for children while ensuring a fun learning environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's future within a supportive family-like team.

Requirements

At least 18-years-old.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to pass background checks & health assessments.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies.
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field required. It is acceptable to have an Associate's Degree, but must be enrolled and/or working towards a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice To Haves

Passion for working with young children.
At least 6 months of experience at a licensed childcare center preferred.

Ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
Create an engaging classroom where children can learn, play and grow.
Support children’s social and emotional development.
Foster a love of learning through Creative Curriculum and our Brain Connect programs.
Build strong partnerships with families through daily app updates and personal discussions.
Implement the SC state First Steps 4K curriculum to prepare children for success in kindergarten
Foster relationships with children and provide a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Document and share with families the important milestones in a child’s day using our app.
Welcome families and engage them in conversation about their child's education and development.
