About The Position

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Manager to join the team located in Ridley Park, PA. This position will lead union-represented employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines. This position develops and maintains relationships with program customers, partners, stakeholders and support personnel. Additionally, the position provides oversight to an integrated team delivering first time quality, safely with zero tolerance for FOD. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position is for 1st shift.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 or more years of experience leading or managing a team or project.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or maintenance, repair and overhaul environment.
  • To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 or more years of experience with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing a Collective Bargaining Unit (CBU) / hourly union-represented workforce.
  • Experience with earned value management/budget management principles and practices.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing and/or other process improvement methodology.

  • Applies understanding of cost management principles and develops strategies to ensure performance to operating budgets.
  • Ability to review and execute plans, make adjustments and resolve issues impeding production.
  • Proficiency in quality procedures and process compliance.
  • Creates a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
