This position involves proficiently performing duties related to the second shift (6pm to 6am) operation of the Boiler House, including equipment maintenance, repair, and training other Firemen. Ability to communicate with Outside Contractors, Service Technicians, Operations, R&D, Quality, and Engineering

Responsibilities

Proficiently perform the duties associated with the second shift (6pm to 6am) operation of the Boiler House
Perform boiler equipment maintenance and repair
Train other boiler house Firemen
Perform any other duties assigned to support the needs of the business
Comply with all quality, safety, attendance and work-rule requirements
Perform other general duties including, but not limited to, material handling, cleaning, painting, sweeping, shoveling and garbage clean up
Fire boilers on scheduled shift and maintain operating pressure for plant operations
Perform daily water treatment as applied to boilers and cooling towers including treatment analysis
Clean oil and gas burners, oil strainers, and smoke meters, as required to comply with DEP/EPA air pollution monitoring regulations
Perform preventative maintenance of equipment through Maximo maintenance management system
Perform daily/per shift monitoring of all Boiler House systems equipment
Monitor and record all air, electric, fuel and water meters into computer files
Maintain daily documentation pertaining to shift ownership
Perform monthly analysis, inspections and inventories
Perform daily housekeeping activities throughout the Boiler Room
Perform other general duties as assigned by supervisor
