About The Position

We are seeking an experienced 1st Class Shipfitter to join our shipyard operations in Pascagoula. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on shipfitting experience and be skilled in layout, structural fitting, metric measuring, and torch cutting. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and strict adherence to shipyard safety standards. Candidates must successfully pass a hands-on craft test .

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of shipfitting experience
  • Ability to pass a hands-on craft test per craft classification
  • Proven experience with structural fitting
  • Proficient in torch cutting steel
  • Strong knowledge of shipfitting techniques and best practices
  • Ability to perform accurate layout and metric measurements (cm, mm, etc.)
  • Knowledge of shipyard safety standards and procedures
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a shipyard or marine construction environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong work ethic with reliable attendance
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Experience working as part of a production or fabrication team

Responsibilities

  • Perform layout and structural fitting tasks accurately
  • Cut steel and materials using a torch
  • Measure and mark materials using metric measurements
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and job specifications
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules
