About The Position

This position primarily involves proficiently performing duties associated with the second shift (6pm to 6am) operation of the Boiler House. Key responsibilities include boiler equipment maintenance and repair, as well as training other boiler house Firemen. The role also encompasses general duties such as material handling, cleaning, painting, sweeping, shoveling, and garbage clean up. Compliance with all quality, safety, attendance, and work-rule requirements is mandatory. Due to the nature of the position, moderate physical activity is required, and employees may frequently need to lift heavy objects. Requirements

Ability to proficiently perform the duties associated with the second shift (6pm to 6am) operation of the Boiler House.
Ability to perform boiler equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to train other boiler house Firemen.
Ability to comply with all quality, safety, attendance and work-rule requirements.
Ability to perform duties including, but not limited to, material handling, cleaning, painting, sweeping, shoveling and garbage clean up.
Ability to fire boilers on scheduled shift and maintain operating pressure for plant operations.
Ability to perform daily water treatment as applied to boilers and cooling towers including treatment analysis.
Ability to clean oil and gas burners, oil strainers, and smoke meters, as required to comply with DEP/EPA air pollution monitoring regulations.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance of equipment through Maximo maintenance management system.
Ability to perform daily/per shift monitoring of all Boiler House systems equipment.
Ability to monitor and record all air, electric, fuel and water meters into computer files.
Ability to maintain daily documentation pertaining to shift ownership.
Ability to perform monthly analysis, inspections and inventories.
Ability to communicate with Outside Contractors, Service Technicians, Operations, R&D, Quality, and Engineering.
Ability to perform daily housekeeping activities throughout the Boiler Room.
Ability to perform other general duties as assigned by supervisor.
Moderate physical activity is required.
May be required to frequently lift heavy objects.
