Finishing Technician

About The Position

The Technician in the Finishing Department is responsible for performing all tasks involved in finishing the company’s composite parts. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Requirements

U.S. Person status required do to export control
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to quickly adapt to change
Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers)
Must be familiar with blueprints and other similar drawings and documents
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
Familiar with a variety of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments.
Will require respirator certification
Ability to communicate effectively with co‐workers and the management team

Responsibilities

Performs proper sanding and polishing techniques
Performs surface preparation, painting, finishing, and corrosion control techniques
Verifies that work is performed in accordance with the operations policy and procedures
Assures that all work records and statements of work are performed in accordance with the specifications, and that all interim quality inspections are performed
Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record (traveler)
Daily verification that all product is properly identified and maintained
Assures that all work areas are clean, orderly, and customer owned material requirements have been followed at the end of the shift
Responsible for maintaining equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition
Be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times
Continuously demonstrate 5S Application
Required participation in internal training as needed to perform the duties assigned to this role
