About The Position

Manage the Finishing department in order to meet order delivery dates, customer quality requirements, and production KPI goals. Department activities include: Dicing Final Inspection Opto-Mechanical Assembly Die picking/sorting Die Packaging Selection and Validation

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical field, or 2-year AS degree plus relevant work experience. Preference would be Mechanical Engineering educational background.
  • At least three years leadership in a technical project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Competent understanding of ERP platforms (especially SAP).
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and assist with resolving technical problems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills like active listening, empathy, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.
  • US Citizenship or Qualified U.S. Worker

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: 5 years experience working microoptics, MEMS, Optics, or wafer-based processing.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Planning and other department managers to meet monthly revenue goals by scheduling direct reports and machines.
  • Work with Engineering on development efforts for Finishing.
  • Validate packaging for durability and stability.
  • Responsible for interfacing with external suppliers engaged for outsourced back end of the line value creation steps regarding operations of dicing, coring, cutting, coating, machining, etc.
  • Develop/maintain work instructions related to material, equipment, and fab processes for Finishing.
  • Responsible for overall product quality: required metrology, inspection, and yield for Finishing.
  • Daily oversight of employee safety regarding chemical and equipment use for Finishing.
  • Responsible for employee training regarding operation and programming of machines.
  • Responsible for interfacing with external suppliers/vendors for equipment support and service of department equipment
  • Implement lean manufacturing & 5S principles, and initiate continuous improvement activities for quality, yield, safety, and efficiency.
  • Responsible for monitoring and improving production metrics such as team utilization, accurate & daily SAP time entry, die yield, and other production KPI's as applicable.
  • Responsible for supporting critical outsourced value creation process steps in production flow.
  • Provide daily communication on department expectations to team to meet company goals and customer needs.
  • Responsible for annual employee reviews.
  • Work with HR and Operation Manager to report and implement employee disciplinary measures.
  • Participate in identifying hiring needs and employee selection.
  • Provide team leadership consistent with company vision, mission, and principles.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
