About The Position

Utah State University Eastern is seeking a Student Services Coordinator I or II - Financial Support Specialist to join the One Stop Student Services team. The level of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. This position provides high-quality customer service and guidance to students, faculty, staff, and community members regarding financial aid and other financial support options. The Financial Support Specialist also collaborates with the Student Money Management Center to offer individualized financial coaching that helps students achieve their educational and financial goals. The ideal candidate will enjoy helping students navigate complex financial aid processes and develop lifelong money management skills.

Requirements

  • Student Services Coordinator I: Two years of experience in an office setting or an associate degree/vocational training is required.
  • Student Services Coordinator II: Four years of related experience; or an associate degree/vocational training plus two years of experience; or a bachelor's degree is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial aid, budgeting, or financial coaching.
  • Familiarity with Banner, Argos, and other student information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with financial aid processes including FAFSA completion, verification, appeals, and loan acceptance.
  • Connect students with financial aid counselors and collaborate closely with the Logan Financial Aid Office.
  • Plan and host financial aid workshops for current and prospective students at USU Eastern, including local FAFSA nights.
  • Develop and maintain a communication plan for financial support updates to USU Eastern students.
  • Stay up to date by using FSA materials to stay up to date on federal regulations and USU materials to keep up to date on institutional policy.
  • Provide financial coaching for USU Eastern students. Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to support budgeting, credit, debt repayment, savings, and student loan understanding.
  • Offer money management workshops and maintain documentation of coaching sessions. Follow up with students as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Student Money Management Center to ensure consistent support and resources.
  • Serve as financial support lead for the A-Team student employees; attend meetings and provide training.
  • Provide backup cashier and front desk support when needed.
  • Schedule appointments and perform general office duties as needed.
  • Support overall office initiatives and other duties as assigned.
