About The Position

We’re looking for a capable, motivated person with financial management experience to handle procurement efforts across the agency, including developing procurement strategies, guiding vendor selection, and overseeing contract negotiations and purchasing processes across all divisions and offices. You’ll work daily in state financial systems like OAKS and OhioBuys to manage requisitions, track spending, and maintain accurate procurement records. You’ll ensure goods and services are received on time and handle the full range of fiscal functions tied to procurement and contract administration—including purchasing, encumbrances, personal service contracts, asset management, and telecommunications needs. Your position plays a key role in keeping Ohio EPA compliant with state and federal requirements, including adhering to fiscal standards set by the state’s Department of Administrative Services and Office of Budget Management. Requirements

  • 54 mos. exp. or 54 mos. trg. financial administration.
  • completion of undergraduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in financial administration.
  • completion of graduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in financial administration.
  • equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
  • Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities
