About The Position

This position is responsible for greeting, collecting and processing all non-scheduled patients to gather the necessary demographic information required in accordance with all regulations and hospital policies to provide care for the patients, procure reimbursement verification from third parties and maintain records appropriately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, associate degree or college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a health care facility or equivalent position with strong collection background.
  • Medical Terminology (Basic), excellent phone etiquette, good mathematical skills, detail oriented, good knowledge of insurance processing requirements (auth, verification terms and regulations.
  • Ability to explain detailed information to all age groups through oral and written communication is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Competent in using all system software programs i.e.; Medical Necessity, Experian, One Source, Cerner, Scheduling.
  • Complete understanding of Insurance processing requirements i.e.; (verification, authorization, terms, requirements and regulations).
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of all current ARMC policies pertaining to the collection process for scheduled/ walk-in patients.
  • Provide transparency to the patients and or physician’s office regarding (Directions, Prep, Financial Clearance, Scheduling and Collections).
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the charity policy is capable of screening all patients for possible assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
