As a Financial Coordinator you will review patient benefits to determine the estimated out-of-pocket costs for patient care on an individual basis. You’ll run financial reports and review trends to investigate better methods for billing. Review new patient insurance for authorization or referral requirements, as applicable, and assist with prior authorizations as needed (collect info, check status, update the team).Perform initial and comprehensive financial screening of mental health benefits for authorization clearance. Meets with care givers, and reviews potential financial liabilities identified during the screening. This is a full time day position, located at NYP/Westchester Behavioral Health Center. Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or significant work experience in lieu of degree
  • Five years related experience
  • Knowledge of third party reimbursement (contracting and non-contracting) and eligibility requirements for all subsidy programs
  • Knowledge of Commercial/Government coverage
  • Knowledge/ability to obtain insurance benefit verification
  • all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses

Nice To Haves

  • Education in Medical Administration, Medical Billing, and/or Public Health
  • Experience with EPIC
  • Knowledge CPT/ICD10
