The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide medical and psychiatric services and consultation to people receiving services at Vinfen's Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CBHC) and outpatient clinics in Lowell and Lawrence. The Psychiatrist will oversee the medical and clinical team at the Youth Community Crisis Stabilization service (YCCS), a six-bed, 24/7 service that is a community-based alternative to hospitalization for youth ages 13-18 with behavioral health (MH, SUD and co-occurring disorders) symptoms. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will supervise the YCCS Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and provide clinical oversight to the Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention Team. Works in conjunction with, and under the direction of, the CBHC /Outpatient Medical Director, directs and supervises the work of the YCCS medical team including Nurse Practitioner, registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Provides consultation to Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention team as needed. Oversees all admissions and discharges to/from the Youth Community Crisis Stabilization service. Participates in inter- and cross-agency medical team meetings to monitor adherence to program specifications and quality, as well as to provide/participate in consultations. Promotes use of evidence-based practices by medical staff and ensure medical services meet regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations standards. Ensures services are youth-focused and family-centered. Provides clinical consultation and expertise to YCCS staff including those specific to admission, discharge, assessment, treatment and youth disposition. Participates and/or facilitates in team and discharge planning meetings, clinical and grand rounds. Provides clinical consultation and supervision to CBHC and Outpatient Psychiatric Prescribers (nurse practitioners, such as APRNs, PMHNPs, and PCNS) who serve youth and adolescents for outpatient medication management. Collaborates with the Community Crisis Stabilization Clinical Program Director and Nurse Manager on developing and maintaining of the medical staffing plan. Performs other duties as assigned.
