About The Position

Advance your career with Staffmark. We are seeking an experienced Financial and Budget Analyst. What You'll Do: Conduct complex financial, budgetary, and compliance analyses to support long-range planning and fiscal performance evaluation. Manage budget planning, financial reporting, and fiscal oversight for multiple departments and programs, including the Dean of Students, Student Engagement, and Auxiliary units. Prepare internal and external financial and compliance reports with accuracy and timeliness. Coordinate the annual budget process and fiscal year-end closing activities. Oversee general ledger reconciliations, cost transfers, and fund tracking to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance. Serve as a key resource for financial compliance reviews and internal audits, ensuring adherence to university policies, fund restrictions, and state/federal regulations. Support divisional leadership by preparing executive dashboards, reports, and financial materials for briefings and advisory groups. Collaborate with CFAO and departmental business officers on financial planning, budget presentations, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (required)
  • 4-7 years of related financial and budgetary experience (required)
  • Deep understanding of finance policies, practices, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare and present complex financial information to executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements, fund restrictions, and internal audit processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with University Financial Systems such as Oracle Financials and Budget Cloud (preferred)
  • Higher education experience (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (preferred)
