About The Position

You will take an active role in key financial processes, including month end close activities, reporting of key performance indicators, forecast planning, budgeting, and financial decision support for our Pottery Barn Brands and key stakeholders. You will work in close partnership with business partners providing full financial support and applying business and analytical skills to ensure sound financial decisions are made. The Ideal Candidate An accomplished analyst able to condense large data sets into root cause and summary analysis with a passion for process improvement. A confident individual who can adapt to a constantly changing environment and quickly pivot from one priority to the next. Someone who can earn trust, garner consensus from multiple stakeholders on strategic issues. Ability to concisely communicate plans, results, and risks to Senior Management in both verbal and written fashion.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience in a financial role
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or related degree
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; advanced financial modeling skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible, positive attitude, and intellectually curious.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; innovative, organized, thorough.
  • Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office Monday - Thursday

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle and Essbase experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supporting month-end close process, financial forecasting, and budgeting for our Pottery Barn Brands through variance analysis, preparation of month-end accruals, and partnerships with key business partners.
  • Analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators including revenue, cost of sales, and operating expenses. Providing strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions based upon this analysis.
  • Developing insightful financial presentations for Senior Management to concisely summarize performance and highlight key business components.
  • Build ad hoc financial analysis focused on expense efficiency, providing actionable insights and recommendations to business partners.
