The Financial Analyst I will support various FPSC and FERC filings and Ad-Hoc analysis. This role will prepare monthly capital forecasts, annual Plan, various regulatory filings, provide support with variance analysis, and support retail and wholesale rate cases. The employee in this role will also build and maintain strong working relationships with other business units in support of the monthly forecast and annual Plan and will perform ad hoc analysis as needed. Employees in this role supports Senior Management decision making via financial modeling, including but not limited to, revenue requirement and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts moderately complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

Requirements

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 2+ years

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly capital forecasts and annual Plan
  • Prepare various capital data reconciliations
  • Prepare walks and variance analysis
  • Work with the business units to understand changes in assumptions and forecast impacts
  • Support base rate filings, including preparation of Minimum Filing Requirement (MFR) schedules, responding to intervenor interrogatories, and provide witness support
  • Assist with requests in support of various FPSC and FERC dockets
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, financial integrity, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department’s forecasting models
  • Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
  • Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
  • Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
  • Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
