The Financial Aid Professional I greets office visitors and provides customer service to students and parents concerning the financial aid and academic scholarship application processes, types of financial aid available, deadlines for applying for aid, and assists in completing the required forms when requested. This position directs students and parents to appropriate office staff when necessary and reviews financial aid paperwork for completeness. This position assists in the call center as necessary. The Financial Aid Professional I prepares electronic files for weekly meetings and maintains general financial aid email account, responding in a timely and courteous manner. This position assists in reviewing academic scholarship applications for prospective and current students. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • The formal education equivalent of an associate's degree
  • Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education, academic, and social programs
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs
  • A working knowledge of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and database management programs
  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations
  • The ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment with good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to disseminate information orally and in writing
