About The Position

This Financial Accountant role primarily focuses on monthly close and financial reporting, audit and cost report support, budget support and financial analysis, and technical accounting support (Fixed Assets, Controls, etc.). The position involves preparing and reviewing monthly and annual financial statements, supporting the audit process, maintaining fixed asset schedules, assisting with annual budget development, analyzing financial results, identifying and implementing process improvements, supporting payroll, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with finance leadership. The role also requires adherence to company standards for attendance, safety, and customer service, emphasizing core values of People First, Compassionate Action, and Respectful Communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of accounting/finance experience
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while keeping management informed

  • Must have discretion in judgment, tact and courtesy in dealing with residents, employees and general public

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in review of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Support audit process, including preparation of work papers and coordination with auditors
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciation
  • Support development of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance support
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
  • Provide support for payroll processing as needed
  • Support compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with Director of Finance, Controller, and CFO on reporting needs
  • Perform all job responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
  • Comply with attendance and tardiness standards established by management
  • Comply with all safety procedures and to follow universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures
  • Use proper body mechanics
  • Comply with other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties requested by their supervisor
  • Understand OSHA's Safety Data Sheets (SDS), where this information is located and what action needs to be taken when an accident occurs with chemicals
  • Know the agency exposure control plan, where this information is located and what action needs to be taken when an accident occurs with blood or other infectious materials
